UTAS Wi-Fi for Campus Visitors

Short term visitors to UTAS have a choice of the following UTAS Wi-Fi services.

  • "eduroam" - Visitors from organizations that participate in the global eduroam network should attempt to access eduroam using their own “edu” email address and password. This will provide the best experience.

Assistance with using eduroam on your device should be provided by your own organization's help desk. UTAS IT Services have limited options to assist with non-UTAS accounts.

Further details about eduroam roaming within Australia can be found at AARNet eduroam

  • For visitors to UTAS who cannot use eduroam, there is the “UTAS-Guest” network which provides a self-registration service.

You MUST have a functional Australian mobile number to complete the registration process.

For complete details of the UTAS-Guest service and how to register, please read this page

  • Conference attendees might find a dedicated conference Wi-Fi network available during their conference. If this is so, then further details will be provided by the conference organizer.

If self-registering with the UTAS-Guest network (detailed above) is insufficient for your conference needs, perhaps due to the quantity of delegates without an Australian mobile number, then conference organizers or their UTAS contact will need to contact UTAS IT Services at least two weeks prior to the conference to arrange a dedicated conference Wi-Fi network.

Accurate registration and identity details will need to be provided for all delegates without an Australian mobile number.
